Inspired by taking the CAT DNA from their heritage, Martine Rose has been able to create a contemporary Outerwear item for a Metropolitan consumer to wear in the City. Not only has Martine created an iconic and surprising product identity, she has interpreted this project with her tone and essence of CAT brand ethos – All just in time to celebrate 20 year Anniversary of the Colorado boot

Cat’s classic Colorado boot was set to be the basis of the project. With full creative reign Martine Rose’s first task was to get into the mind-set of the consumer;

• He is the new/modern customer
• Trends in gadgets are hugely important
• He is brand driven and Item driven (iPhone over Apple)
• He has an on-the-go lifestyle
• Influenced by magazines, fashion blogs and unique retail specialists are his research tools for style and consumption
• Having the right item is more important to him than the price

Autumn 2011 brought forth a new challenge for Martine Rose.

To create a new market place phenomenon globally, that will enrich consumer’s perception and interaction with CAT through break through design using Luxury design DNA for Contemporary sophisticated audience for City wearing occasion.

CAT x Martine Rose

Martine Rose has collaborate with CAT brand to launch a limited range of boots.

With a rich heritage dating back to 1925 Cat recognised the functionality and innovative comfort in Martine’s designs. Martine has transformed the classic Colorado boot, which has recently celebrated its 20th anniversary. The boot was given a luxurious feel with the felt, whilst nodding to the heritage of the brand with leather toe caps and Martine’s signature ankle strap.

The collaboration boot is stocked in Colette and will be moving forward with another season.
